Victorian Essence Porch Spandrel Rails - How to Measure

Measure the distance between the flat portions of the upper part of the porch posts. Measure exactly as we will adjust the measurement by 1/4" for clearance. Enter the required quantities and sizes on the order form here.

  1. Please note:
The minimum distance (height) of the flat upper portion of the posts must be 12" in order to fit a spandrel rail and gingerbread bracket. If you are planning on installing spandrel only the minimum height for the flat portion of the post must be 7"
  2. If one or both of the posts that you are measuring between is offset (ie turned 45 degrees) as on some wraparound porches, please contact us for instructions on how to measure for spandrel.

Your Victorian Essence spandrel trim will come preassembled in the length that was requested. If Gingerbread or center drop brackets were ordered at the same time the spandrel rail will be predrilled to allow for the attachment of the brackets. Once the rail and brackets are joined together it can be mounted to the header, between the posts using the supplied hardware.
